As we’ve all witnessed recently, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has fully had President Donald Trump’s back, defending him from the Russia investigation and as most of us are familiar with the situation, you cannot defend the president without going against former FBI Director James Comey as well as his testimony to Congress.
The Press Secretary went on to imply that Comey could have potentially broken the law by releasing documents to the press which he made back in office, releasing a statement in which she explained, “The memos that Comey leaked were created on an FBI computer while he was the director. He claims they were private property. They clearly followed the protocol of an official FBI document,” going on to conclude that by leaking these FBI memos on a highly-sensitive case is “pretty clean and clear” violation of all sorts of rules and laws.
But as a result of her backing President Trump, Senate Democrats have now revealed that they believe Sanders to be the next person indicated, with Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) going publicly on MSNBC earlier this week to declare that Sanders was at the brink of facing charges brought against her for attempting to align the character of Comey to a grand jury, which will be overseeing the Mueller investigation.
Despite the whole accusation against a White House member whose job it is to back the president being attacked for doing so, the Senate Democrats claim that this wouldn’t be the first time a WH aide had embroiled in a president’s controversy by disparaging a witness.
