Fox News, Guilfoyle React To Reports About Her Possible Future In Trump Administration

A Fox News Channel source has responded to reports this week indicating the Trump administration is in talks with one of the network’s most prominent hosts to replace current White House press secretary Sean Spicer.

As Western Journalism reported, Kimberly Guilfoyle acknowledged in a recent interview with the San Jose Mercury News that the idea has been “raised by a number of people” close to the president.

Guilfoyle, who co-hosts The Five on Fox News, was mentioned as an early contender for the press secretary position.

In a statement provided to Western Journalism, however, a Fox News source noted she still has an active contract with her current employer.

“Kimberly is a valued member of the Fox News prime-time lineup, and is under a long-term contract with the network,” the spokesperson said.

Despite calling the position of White House press secretary “fascinating” in her previous interview, Guilfoyle also followed up with a statement indicating she is not in a rush to make an exit from Fox News.

“As I stated in the interview, I really love what I do and my job co-hosting The Five is tough to beat,” she said via a spokesperson.

Nevertheless, the news sparked debate among social-media users regarding whether she would be a good choice for the position.
