Many (liberals) were skeptic regarding all the promises Donald Trump has made during the presidential campaign, and he just keeps proving them wrong. He isn’t just fulfilling those promises, he is CRUSHING them.
After all these years of neglecting our churches and suppressing our religion while praising all the others (especially Islam), Obama will no longer be able to spread his hatred. President Donald Trump just announced signing a huge executive order that will take down one of the nastiest liberal laws of all – the Church-hating Johnson Amendment.
“Today my administration is leading by example as we take historic steps to protect religious liberty in the United States of America. We will not allow people of faith to be targeted, bullied or silenced anymore,” the President said.
The Johnson Amendment bans public charities — including churches — from campaigning for or against a candidate for elected office, and this new order will allow them to openly support politics without risking their tax-exempt status.
“Among those freedoms is the right to worship according to our own beliefs. That is why I will get rid of and totally destroy the Johnson Amendment and allow our representatives of faith to speak freely and without fear of retribution,” Trump said. “I will do that, remember.”
Franklin Graham, son of American preacher Billy Graham, was a victim of the Johnson Amendment. Graham faced IRS investigations for his organizations Samaritan’s Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, reports Liberty Writers. He wrote to President Obama in 2013 to complain.
“I believe that someone in the [Obama] Administration was targeting and attempting to intimidate us,” he wrote. “This is morally wrong and some would call it ‘un-American.’”
Giving churches their voice back was one of Trump’s campaign promises, and that is EXACTLY what he is doing right now.
