An announcement has just been made that President Donald Trump, will be lighting the White House in blue on Monday night, all with the goal to honor law enforcement officials who have perished on duty.
A document which was signed by Trump declaring May 15 as a Peace Officers Memorial Day, and at the same time kick off police week in Washington D.C., provides further plans to light the White house.
Trump’s statement read that the police officers are the “thin blue line whose sacrifices protect and serve us every day” and added that “we pledge to support them as they risk their lives to safeguard ours.”
Governors were also encouraged to fly their flags at half-staff, to remember the fallen law officials.
Official reports coming from the White House claim that 118 officers gave their lives in the line of duty last year, with 66 of them losing their lives in malicious attacks.

President Trump even took it in his hands to personally met with officials at the White House, who had suffered the loss of a police officer in their department, and he made a promise to prosecute crimes against law enforcement officials.
“We’re going to get it taken care of quickly,” he said.
President Trump and First Lady Melania also lit the White House in blue light back in April, to commemorate World Autism Day.
Either way, we are proud to have a president that for once, acknowledges the importance and the sacrifice that these men make for our nation! Let’s spread the word and show them and their families our gratitude!
